Network solution for IoT applications at a Formula One racetrack
Problem:A Formula One racetrack needed a new, dedicated 5G network for its IoT applications. The goal was to enable real-time data exchange between the Formula One cars and the data centres. This required not only coverage of the entire track, but also high data capacity capable of handling the video footage from the cars' high-tech sensors.
Solution:EXI mapped the racetrack and ran simulations to optimize network coverage and select the best locations along the racetrack. By anticipating network usage, EXI was able to design the network to withstand high-intensity usage peaks (e.g., during fully booked Formula One races).
Result:The new network infrastructure enabled the required IoT applications, including state-of-the-art sensors and systems that communicate in real time. The circuit was thus ready for the data-driven future of racing.
